Nestled
in the scenic rolling hills of the Hudson Valley
is Colonial Terrace, an exquisite mid-nineteenth
10 acre estate dedicated solely to the art of
fine social and corporate catering.
Historical research traces the origins
of Colonial Terrace to the Civil War Era, although
the region itself occupies a significant place
in earlier colonial development. The Mansion was
built by members of the Simpson Family whose heirs
are still involved in business in New York City
today. |

lush grounds allowed the estate to be used as
a dairy farm for a short time until the house
and property were sold to the Waterbury Family.
Colonel and Mrs. Eugene Waterbury and their children
lived there until 1945, at which time it was purchased
by Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Levitz.
Under
the Levitz Family stewardship, Colonial Terrace,
as it was officially named, existed as a Country
Inn. Guests from the Tri-state area were offered
fine food, lodging, and entertainment during weekends,
holidays, and vacations. A large day camp was
part of the tradition for the local community.
With time, social catering evolved
as the exclusive specialty of “The Mansion
on the Hill.” Colonial Terrace continues
to impress even the most discerning guests with
its grand architecture, formal gardens, interesting
décor and gracious hospitality.
The family and staff at Colonial Terrace continue
to assist customers, both on and off premise,
with careful attention to every detail, assuring
perfect orchestration from ceremony to celebration.
Whatever the size, theme,
entertaining style, or location, a Colonial Terrace
reception will become your memory of a lifetime.
